Meet Vernie Dove
Vernie Dove is one of the most community-minded men living and working in the Grand Strand area today. Since he moved here in 1987 he has been named Citizen of the Year, served as President of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, helped start a Kids Voting program, was named Rotarian of the Year… and the list goes on and on. Today, he is partially retired as Executive Vice-President of Associated Insurers and he and his wife, Peggy, have more time for family, travel and enjoying life. And, one of the things he enjoys doing is READING SASEE!
Vernie, Sasee is a women’s magazine, yet you love it. What is your favorite thing?
I’ve been reading Sasee for four or five years, and I love the covers. They are always cheerful, and there is a lot of sadness in the world, so something to cheer us up is always welcome. I am an avid reader, so I thumb through the entire magazine. Even the ads are good! They all look like artwork done by a fine artist. Sasee is a very pleasant magazine.
You have had such a distinguished career, both professionally and through your many volunteer pursuits. What are you doing now?
My wife and I have been married for 53 years and it’s wonderful to be able to spend more time with her. We also see a lot of our two children, LuAnn and Vernie, Jr., and our two grandsons. Every year we go to Ft. Lauderdale and spend a week relaxing. My wife travels more than I do. I don’t like to leave the country. And, I can’t seem to get away from the office entirely. I enjoy what I do!
If you are a Man Who Loves Sasee, we would love to hear from you! Drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 1357 21st Ave. N., Ste. 102, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
