Letter from the Editor: In Good Taste

It’s time to eat. Yes, dear friends, from now until the end of the year, there are no diets, no restrictions, just the pure pleasure of good food. For years I’ve told my children that the reason they like my cooking is because I make it with love. Which is true, but most anything tastes better when shared with family and friends – the joy found in shared company being the most delicious seasoning. I love pulling out my family recipes for the things we love to eat, even the recipe cards, written in my late mother’s hand, invoke treasured memories of Thanksgivings past. On the fourth Thursday of this month, throughout our community, and our country for that matter, families and friends will sit down together and share a meal; special foods, lovingly prepared, presented on the best china, for this one special day. And, most importantly, we’ll give thanks together, and, in recognizing how much we have to be thankful for, the gratitude becomes the blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace isn’t a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live.
