Living the Good Life: Angie Rodriguez and Roxy Bartz

Angie Rodriguez and Roxy Bartz are co-owners of Two Sisters with Southern Charm in Garden City, a boutique filled with beautiful vintage and shabby chic home décor. As they prepare for the holiday season, Angie shared a little about their lives with Sasee.

Where do you live?

We both live in Murrells Inlet and moved here just this past July from Pennsylvania. I am married with three children – a stepson who is a Marine, a son going to college in San Diego and a daughter who has spent as many hours as we have making our store a success. Roxy is also married with four children – two sons and two daughters. She is expecting her first grandchild which is very exciting. If you were to ask any of our children who our favorites are they would unanimously say – the boys. No, not the male offspring but my yellow lab and Roxy’s Boston Terrier and English Springer!

Why would you say you live “The Good Life?”

We love what we are doing and have family and friends that are always there for us. And as my daughter said when we first moved here “How can you be sad when you have a palm tree outside your window?” Both Roxy and I love finding all the wonderful items in our shop, repurposing and displaying them – and the customers are the cherries on top – all in all a perfect combination for a “Good Life” recipe.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Mine would be the hunt for the perfect live Christmas tree and cutting it down. This is a tradition that was started when I was a child. Roxy’s is the playing of games after the holiday dinner. Just a little side note, our family “LOVES” each other but we play to win.

Tell us a little about your business?

Our store is a representation of all that we love but can’t fit in our house. Our diverse inventory is a mixture of rustic cabin, beach cottage, glitzy glamour, ’50s-’70s retro, and “I remember this from when I was a kid.” Both Roxy and I come from very artistic and creative parents. When we are together our inherited creativity soars. This magnetic field of creative energy allows us to offer unique items and display the everyday items in a fun and eye catching way – our prices are great, too.
