Her art is displayed in homes, galleries and businesses all over the world. She paints and makes sculptures out of materials that others throw away, turning discarded items into valuable art. She has painted on plywood, discarded lumber, old doors, windows, drums, guitars, clothing, automobiles, buildings and the occasional human. Besides painting and sculpting, the artist also performs while painting live for concerts, festivals and charity events. She feels her art should be used as a tool for helping others and has worked with “Give5,” Extreme Home Make Over and has sold art to raise money for individuals in need. Kimberly has also illustrated nine popular children’s books. Despite the fact that many celebrities and one ex-president own pieces of her artwork, Kimberly believes that Folk Art is the “people’s art” and should be available to all, accessible and not pretentious. For that reason, she produces beautiful pieces that make personal connections and are affordable. Contact Kimberly at 843-333-8823 or kimberly.clayton@ymail.com. To see more of her work, visit Sunset River Marketplace, Calabash, N.C., 910-575-5999.

Upon graduating from Lynchburg College, Robin began her career as a free-lance needlework designer. She then went on to establish her own needlework and ribbon company for the next 18 years. In 2000, business took a back seat to her passion for painting; she picked up her pastels and began renewing her love of the arts. Pastels soon moved to oils, and she is currently working in both mediums. Robin has refined her talent working with several teaching artists, as well as attending the Scottsdale Artists’ School. Robin also focuses her creative eye on photography. She now has a full line of photographic images from around the world.

Robin’s work is always developing and each painting is a learning experience. It is her goal to create a painting that is as exciting to her as it is to the collector. Life has taken her through myriad experiences and phases over the years. Kelley studied Philosophy, Theology and Fine Art and has traveled across the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, parts of Central & South America and Asia. Her volunteer work includes inner-city soup kitchens in Baltimore, Maryland, and mission work in Bolivia, South America. Kelley has also taught and worked as an artist.

Kelley left her job teaching high school philosophy in 2005 to pursue a career in the arts full time. In March, 2010, she opened the Kd Morris Art Gallery and Wine Shop in Holden Beach.

The rest of Kelley’s time is devoted to long runs, walks and skipping on the beach, surfing, yoga, travels to new places, dancing when she thinks no one is looking and watching as many sunrises and sunsets as possible in the company of her husband, David.

For her, creating is a chance to meditate and share different perspectives. She has found art to be an amazing tool to bring people together. In her senior year of high school she took several inspiring art classes, which led to her decision to pursue a B.A. in Art Studio at Coastal Carolina University. Since graduating college in 2005, Sybil has had several jobs that revolved around art. She was an assistant curator at an art gallery, an art educator/tour guide at a children’s art museum, and is currently an art instructor at Abiding Village Urban Arts Center.

Sybil enjoys making custom artwork, murals, prints, greeting cards, personalized gifts, and has recently fallen in love with hand painted jewelry making. You can find her artwork for sale at www.livelovecreate.net and in various local stores in Myrtle Beach.

When she isn’t focusing on her artwork, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, surfing, playing tennis, attending cultural events and anything involving the outdoors. That began her pursuit of art. She graduated from the University of Richmond, in 2002, with a B.A. in Psychology and Studio Art.
Shortly after college, Caitlin had a vision of doing large, live paintings. At that time, she had no idea how the vision was going to become a reality. Today, it is a reality. Caitlin feels that, ultimately, art is a tool that God has given her to connect with people regardless of race, age, culture, religion, or socioeconomic status. Much of Caitlin’s work includes writing on the artwork and most works are painted on recycled windows, doors or barn wood. But, after three years she got discouraged and turned to an interior design career. Then, on moving to South Carolina in 1989, Jane itched to paint again and has been doing so for the past 20 years. After using watercolors and oils as mediums, the artist now produces water media (watercolors, pastels and acrylics) as well as oils in her beautiful Art Barn in North Carolina.

Within the last two years, this award-winning artist has become a Signature Member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, a Signature Member of the South Carolina Watermedia Society and a Signature Member of The Georgia Watercolor Society. Also, the artist has been published in Watercolor Magic and been on the cover of several magazines, including Sasee’s debut issue. Her paintings hang in homes throughout the country and in England (where Jane has lived on two separate occasions) and it always delights her to see people enjoying them.
