DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, November 9th for the 31st Annual Turtle Strut 5K/8K Run/Walk. This race is held in memory of Chief Guy Osborne\, former Pawleys Island Police Chief who passed away in 2015. Participants will start at the Pawleys Island Nature Park and head south on Myrtle Avenue along the Pawleys Island Creek. 5K participants will turn around in the Bird’s Nest area of the island while 8K runners will continue down Springs Avenue and enjoy a stunning ocean view. The 8K will turn around at the far south end beach access and head back to the Nature Park toward the finish line. This early morning race will take place on an extremely flat course\, with amazing natural beauty. \n\n\n\nPawleys Island is a barrier island less than 4 miles long and mostly 1 house wide\, separated from the mainland by a beautiful salt marsh and accessible by two short causeways. It is located 70 miles north of Charleston and 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and is known as one of the oldest summer resorts on the East Coast.

You’ll learn common studio etiquette\, how to pick a class right for your ability and how to destress. \n\n\n\n Each week we will have a theme on yoga philosophy and we will improve upon what we learned from the previous classes. Students will receive an infographic each class to help them carry their practice home with them. Please bring your own yoga mat\, a water bottle and dress comfortably knowing that you will be moving. If you have access to props like blocks\, bolsters or straps\, you can bring those too. \n\n\n\n\nSept 4 – “Yoga Basics” – Find Your Seat\, Find Your Down Dog\, Salute the Sun\, learn to move\, breathe and settle the mind. \n\n\n\nSept 11 – “Props & Poses” – learn the specific names and alignment to poses and what props can help these poses feel better in your body. \n\n\n\nSept 18 – “Go with the Flow” – take poses from the last 3 classes and string them together in a vinyasa style class with one breath and one movement. \n\n\n\nSept 25 – “Put it all together” – take the various poses and props to blend a graceful movement practice paired with breathing and meditation for our final practice.\n\n\n\n\nTo sign up\, please go to https://wix.to/W6AA8Uc  Please sign up online for a PLAN for all 4 classes or sign up individually for a $30 drop in.
