Juan Sanjuán Tarragó is a multifaceted creator whose life bridges engineering, management, and contemporary art. Trained as an Industrial Engineer with additional specialization in business administration at ESADE, service marketing, and technology company creation, Juan built a long career rooted in analytical thinking and organizational leadership.
Throughout his professional life, he held diverse technical and executive roles, including Programmer Analyst, Consultant, and Director of Purchasing, Logistics, and Operations. His career developed mainly in Catalonia and the Valencian Community, with senior positions at Group BUIFA, S.L. in Lleida, where he has served since 2001 as Director of Purchasing and Logistics, and Grupo BRISA in Alicante, where he led Organization, Maintenance, and Security. He also worked with the Valencian Regional Government as a vocational instructor, contributed to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia’s Computing Center, and directed IT services at Grup ESTEIN.
Rather than slowing down in retirement, Juan experienced a remarkable artistic reinvention. Self-taught through weekly painting tutorials during his working years, he developed a distinctive style that merges technical rigor with emotional expression. His work has evolved from realism toward structured abstraction, marked by geometry, balance, and vibrant color. Using primarily oil on canvas, he explores landscapes, still lifes, and portraits with a strong sense of light and form.
Juan has participated in numerous exhibitions in Lleida and beyond, is active in local artistic associations, and has been selected for competitions across Catalonia and Aragon. Influenced by Sorolla, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Dalí, his art has reached a global audience, gaining over 85,500 Instagram followers in just one year.
He continues expanding internationally, collaborating on book cover designs and preparing for an exhibition next March at @ijharartgallery in Istanbul. His work can be seen on Instagram at @juansanjuantarrago.
