Format & Details:
Once a player registers for a Minor League Pickleball event, their rating is \u201clocked\u201d and their DUPR increasing or decreasing will not impact their team\u2019s aggregate or division placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MiLP FORMAT:
Minor League Pickleball is an innovative team competition where teams of 4 players (2 women and 2 men) compete against each other in an engaging format, with twists on traditional match-ups and scoring for games, matches, and tiebreakers. Teams compete against each other in Matches using the MLPlay\u2122 format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLPlay\u2122 is an ingenious gameplay format that brings men and women together on a level playing court. In the MLPlay\u2122 format team matches are composed of four 21-point games, one women\u2019s doubles, a men\u2019s doubles, and the final two games consisting of mixed doubles. If both teams are tied at 2-2 after the 4 games are played, they\u2019ll go to a Dreambreaker\u2122! In a Dreambreaker\u2122 one person from each team plays singles against the other team\u2019s player, switching players every four rallies until someone gets to 21 and wins by two points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoring: Rally (Games to 21 win by 2 points) (You have to score on your serve to win)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOUBLES FORMAT:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Tournament Details:
– Scoring Format: Rally (You have to score on your serve to win)
– Minimum Games: Each team will be scheduled for at least 5 games.
– Score Tracking: Pickleball Charleston will record All game scores in DUPR.
– Based on Ratings: Teams are placed into pools based on their combined team rating (your rating + your partner\u2019s rating).
– Event Combining: Depending on the number of teams:
– Divisions may be combined based on skill level or age to ensure a better playing experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Bracket Formation:
– Initial Setup: Teams will first compete in a Round Robin format.
– Skill Level Adjustments: Skill levels might be mixed during the Round Robin. After this phase, teams will be split into two separate brackets based on their Round Robin standings.
– Separate Brackets: Each bracket will have its own winners and medalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Bracket Format:
The specific format for each bracket will be determined based on the number of teams and will be provided a week before the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs PBC will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
