Join the Rescue Mission – A Q&A With All4Paws Animal Rescue about Palmetto Giving Day

What is Palmetto Giving Day?

Palmetto Giving Day is a 36-hour online giving event for Georgetown County nonprofits. Whether you’re interested in the environment, arts, youth, animal welfare or human services, Palmetto Giving Day is an incredible opportunity to show our community what matters to you! Together, we’re making Georgetown County a better place to live, work and play.

Palmetto Giving Day represents two impactful days for local nonprofits to achieve fundraising goals and connect with new supporters. For All4Paws, it’s one of the most significant opportunities to raise essential funds for our lifesaving mission.

What is All4Paws’ fundraising goal for Palmetto Giving Day, and what would achieving it mean for your rescue efforts?

At All4Paws, our Palmetto Giving Day 2025 goal is our most ambitious yet. We aim to raise at least 15% more than last year’s remarkable total of $165,000, which included $75,000 in grants and generous donations matched through community contributions. Achieving this goal would align with our biggest adoption target to date—rescue 2,000 dogs and cats in 2025. But we can’t meet either goal without the help of our compassionate community.

All4Paws belongs to our coastal SC community. We receive no state or county funding and depend entirely on the generosity of compassionate supporters. Your contributions empower us to continue our lifesaving work: rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing forever homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals.

  • Rescue Efforts: Over the years, All4Paws has saved more than 21,000 animals, giving them a second chance at a better life.
  • Community Support: In 2024 alone, we donated almost 15,000 pounds of pet food to local families in need, bringing our total to more than 180,500 pounds of food distributed in partnership with organizations like Baskervill Ministries Food Bank.
  • Spay/Neuter Programs: Our clinic performed over 476 free or low-cost spay/neuter surgeries in 2024, helping to control the unwanted animal population. Since its opening in 2021, the clinic has fixed over 1,000 feral cats across Horry and Georgetown Counties.

With your help, we can do even more! Join us in making a difference for the animals who deserve love, care, and forever homes. Together, we can create a brighter future for pets and people alike.

How does All4Paws plan to use the funds raised on Palmetto Giving Day to help more animals?

Running a rescue like All4Paws requires significant resources—it costs an average of $4,300 every single day to keep our lifesaving operations going. The funds raised on Palmetto Giving Day will play a critical role in helping us meet these daily needs and go even further in saving more lives.

Rescuing, caring for, and finding forever homes for dogs and cats is an intensive process that requires dedication, compassion, and funding. Over 98% of what we spend goes directly or indirectly toward the care of the animals. This includes veterinary costs, food, and the salaries of the hardworking staff who look after the animals every day.

Our innovative “Clinic in a Can” enables us to provide essential veterinary care on-site. Every animal we rescue is spayed or neutered before adoption, ensuring healthier pets and contributing to controlling the unwanted animal population in our community.

Because All4Paws receives no state or county funding, we rely entirely on the generosity of our community to raise every dollar we need. Your support on Palmetto Giving Day will directly impact our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Georgetown County’s abandoned, abused, and neglected animals.

By contributing, you’re not just helping us operate day-to-day—you’re giving countless animals a second chance at life and bringing love, joy, and companionship to the families who adopt them. Together, we can continue to make a difference!

Why is this campaign so important to All4Paws?

This year alone, All4Paws has taken on some heartbreaking cases. We’ve rescued over 62 dogs from a harrowing hoarding situation, 25 cats from a home where their owner had passed away, injured and sick animals needing care and countless abandoned mamas and puppies. These are just a few of the many lives we’ve saved, in addition to the hundreds of dogs and cats we take in from other local shelters to ease their burden.

At All4Paws, we believe every life matters. Every dog and cat deserves a second chance at a loving, forever home. Sadly, we can’t save them all—but the more funds we raise during campaigns like Palmetto Giving Day, the more lives we can touch. This campaign is crucial to helping us provide the care, resources, and hope these animals need to start anew.

How can the community get involved beyond donating—are there volunteer opportunities or supply donation needs?

Absolutely! All4Paws thrives because of the dedication and compassion of our incredible family of volunteers. We are always looking for new members to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals. There are so many ways to get involved:

  • Volunteer Your Time: Whether it’s walking dogs, fostering animals in need of temporary homes, or helping with events, there’s a role for everyone. Volunteers are the heartbeat of our rescue, ensuring our animals receive the care, attention, and love they deserve.
  • Supply Donations: If you can’t volunteer in person, consider donating much-needed supplies. Items like pet food, cleaning products, and toys make a huge difference in the daily care of the animals.
  • Learn and Sign Up: To learn more and take the first step, visit our volunteer page. You can fill out an application and attend an orientation to become part of the All4Paws family.  https://all4pawssc.org/volunteer

Your time, skills, and contributions—big or small—help us rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats in need. Together, we can create brighter futures for these deserving animals and the families who welcome them into their homes.
