Our Favorite Dog-Friendly Restaurants Along The Grand Strand

By Tammie Hughes

The Grand Strand has a growing lineup of pup-loving restaurants. You can check out BringFido.com for lists that are updated regularly. We are highlighting a few of our favorites for you and your loving fur baby to visit.

Tidal Creek Brewhouse has a dedicated K9 Korral for off-leash playtime featuring a fire hydrant, a selfie station, and jump ropes. They offer a special dog menu with dog entree bowls, pup cups, treats, and malt licker. They also arrange for personalized pet birthday parties! Pups are required to be on-leash outside of the Korral but are welcome throughout the outdoor spaces. Be sure to check out the event page for Yappy Hours. Loyal patrons can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner with an amazing roundup of options. For lunch, be sure to check out the Brat Platter featuring TWO artisan sausages, and for dinner, you can’t go wrong with the Shrimp and Grit Cakes. There’s a wide selection of n-house CRAFT Brews.

The Sneaky Beagle has been named in the “Top 100 Dog-Friendly Restaurants” in the country by Yelp®. They have a huge outdoor space, a full dog menu, and are putting the finishing touches on a brand new fenced dog park with turf, toys, ramps, and equipment. They’ve also installed dog leash hook-ups on the tables outside to free up parents hands! And if that wasn’t enough, they frequently hold pet adoption events on site. Check out the full dog menu online—including a Bark Burger, Ruxin’s Pup Cup, Chicken Jerky, and more! For humans, they offer a wide selection of unique tacos, sandwiches, wraps, and smash burgers, alongside paninis, flatbreads, and some cool apps. Try out the Bruschetta appetizer and the Cordon Bleu Tacos.

Snooky’s on The Water welcomes dogs and pet parents to the outdoor area to enjoy great food and an ocean view! The menu is seafood-forward and the selection is outstanding! Try out the Salmon BLT and the Waterside Soup Sampler—Clam Chowder, She Crab Soup, and Seafood Gumbo. The raw bar menu is not to be overlooked and includes an array of poke bowls, ceviche variations, oysters, crab, shrimp, towers, and more!

Blueberry Grill at Barefoot Landing has a spacious patio where patrons are often found with their fluffy friends. It is a popular place for visitors and locals alike with great breakfast and lunch selections, including a selection of breakfast Benedict’s, sweet treats, skillets, sandwiches, burgers, salads, low-country favorites, and of course many options that include blueberries! I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes, crab cake Benedict, and melting pot omelette.

Moe Moon’s boasts a fun boardwalk atmosphere with breeze-worthy cocktails served in a frozen pineapple or fishbowl! The menu is extensive and features items like wings, tacos, burgers, and beach buckets. There’s something for everyone to enjoy! Try the Bang Bang Tacos or the Pimento Crab Burger. Pups are welcome at the outdoor seating. Sipping on a frozen pineapple cocktail while gazing at the ocean…that’s just about perfect!

On your next visit, try the Chicken Enchilada Soup or the House-Made Smokehouse Pizza, and for sushi lovers, the Sunset Roll and Hawaii Roll are a sure bet!

The Kitchen Table in North Myrtle adores furry visitors and presents them with a water bowl and an order of bacon upon arrival, provided parents approve. The outdoor patio is open to your fur babies (weather permitting) year-round. Call ahead to check, the venue doesn’t seat the patio when storms are expected or when it’s super hot outside. They serve breakfast and lunch and have quite the following for good reason. They serve up their Signature Country Platters, a.k.a. “meat and two,” for lunch with country classics. They also have an extensive breakfast menu, and the lunch menu is rounded out with sandwiches, seafood platters, salads, and burgers. Try the Lotsa Meat Omelette for breakfast, and for lunch try the Hot Open-Faced Oven Roasted Turkey Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes or one of the Country Platters.

44 & King takes care of their furry visitors with a screened-in porch that’s heated in the winter and outfitted with fans in the summer. There’s also a courtyard area open to families with dogs. They have water bowls and treats on the house and offer pup-sized hamburgers and grilled chicken to order. Pup parents can enjoy a Southern-style menu offering classics like the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner, Shrimp & Grits, a Roasted Chicken Pot Pie, and Pot Roast—among other delicious menu items. The King’s Tomato Pie sounds divine, and I can’t wait to try it!

Captain Archie’s has plenty of outdoor tables for your sweet pups, and they do require them to be leashed. Servers swoon over the dogs and bring out water bowls to ensure they all stay hydrated. They offer traditional bar food and have a nice weekday lunch special that’s very reasonably priced. At only $12 per platter, they offer Country Fried Steak on Mondays, Fried Chicken on Tuesdays, Lasagna on Wednesdays, Pork Chops on Thursdays, and Fried Flounder on Fridays. On our visit, I admit that our pup did have a couple of peel-and-eat shrimp and a few French fries. And I’m happy to report his digestive system handled it fine.

A few additional pup-friendly venues…

Crooked Hammock Brewery
