In honor of Father’s Day this month, we asked local male business owners to tell us about their businesses, why they started them, and to share important qualities or skills that have contributed to their success as business owners. We are grateful for their support of Sasee and are so lucky to have them as part of our community.
Dr. Michael Gambacorta DC, RN – Spine Center Myrtle Beach
I’ve always believed that healthcare should be personal, precise, and powerful—not rushed, reactive, or cookie-cutter. After working in both conventional and alternative medical settings, I saw a massive gap in how chronic pain and long-term health issues were being treated. Most practices either lean too far into pills or too far into pseudoscience. I built Myrtle Beach Spine Center to be the bridge between the two—a place where evidence-based medicine, cutting-edge regenerative therapies, and hands-on chiropractic care come together under one roof.
We specialize in physical medicine, rehabilitation, and integrative treatments like stem cell therapy, medical weight loss, trigger point injections, spinal decompression, and advanced diagnostics. Our goal is to get patients functioning at their highest level without surgery or long-term reliance on pharmaceuticals.
My inspiration? Helping people get their life back—and proving that modern healthcare can still be personal, proactive, and damn effective. I raise ducks. Not metaphorically—actual ducks. They have names, routines, and more personality than some of the people I’ve met at medical conferences. It started as a hobby with the kids, and now it’s a borderline obsession. Bonus fact? I’m 100% Sicilian, which means I’m genetically wired for espresso, stubbornness, and cooking pasta like a Michelin-starred nonna.
We’re not your average clinic. We’re the place you come when you’ve tried everything else, and nothing’s worked. Whether it’s chronic pain, weight you can’t lose, or mobility that’s holding you back, we combine traditional medicine with advanced regenerative therapies and hands-on care to get real results. We also take pride in our culture—our team is warm, sharp, and relentless about getting people better. If you want to feel younger, move better, and stop chasing band-aid treatments, we’re your people.

Joseph Parrilla – Kind Ideas/Lowcountry Bites
Kind Ideas started as a creative hobby, with my wife and I making small gifts, signs and trinkets. Then one day, I thought of building a wooden tray. We had an Etsy shop and posted the listing for said tray, and it took off immediately. This was back in 2020. Since we have created thousands of serving trays, charcuterie boards, coasters, retirement gifts and many other personalized home goods and corporate gifts. We work with premium wood and create unique pieces.
I am an Executive Chef by trade. I went to culinary school in New York City 2001 and after I moved to Martha’s Vineyard, MA where I pursued my career for many years.
As Kind Ideas Home and Gift grew, we had to improve our marketing and photos, and stage the trays appropriately. We started adding food to the photos, and eating charcuterie on a regular basis. Eventually, that part of the business became Lowcountry Bites – our charcuterie and hors d’oeuvres business.

John S. Gore, Owner, Designer, Allied ASID – B. Graham Interiors
I went into business first as an antique dealer to supplement a teacher’s income, then as a watercolor and acrylic artist, then as an interior designer with a showroom for the last 30 years. In my youth, I was one of those people whose feeling was “if they can do it, I can do it” or the sky is the limit. I have always thrived on challenge and making a vision become a reality. My motto is nothing ventured, nothing gained. Age has tended to mellow the adventurous spirit, and I now concentrate on designing interiors for my clients and painting abstracts in acrylics for relaxation. B. Graham Interiors is a full service design firm and though we have scaled down from six employees to two, Rosa Morais and myself, we concentrate on the showroom and designing quality interior spaces utilizing our expertise and library of over 1,000 manufacturers of quality fabrics, wallcoverings, furniture and accessories.

Hunter Brandon – Glass Doctor
After serving in the Army for seven years, I decided to end my career in one field and join another so I would be able to be with my family more. With the foundation of an incredible company, I opened a franchise in Myrtle Beach with Glass Doctor, and there we specialize in glass repair, replacement, and installation for homes and businesses, including insulated glass, tabletops, shelving, mirrors & shower enclosures, storefronts, board-up services, and more. Like every part of my life, I have set numerous goals that I strive to meet, and one of those goals I set when opening this franchise was to give back to the community I grew up in. With my experience in the Army as an Officer, I’m used to the discipline and determination when it comes to leading people. Working within the civilian world rather than the military has given me more learning opportunities to be an even better leader in an entirely different scope of work. By gaining new skills as a leader, I hope to serve my community well and leave a lasting impression on every customer we serve while providing my employees with a work environment they’re proud to be a part of.
