Lucy ArTe (Lucia Arena, born in Genoa, Italy, in 1973) is a contemporary visual artist and illustrator. Formed at the historic Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti, she combines an eye for graphic layout—refined during her experience as a web designer—with the vibrant, physical power of traditional mixed-media.

Her artwork is a bold celebration of Pop Art and Doodle Art. Lucy experiments by drawing with pencils, markers, and vivid colors directly onto fashion magazines, overlaying her personal graphic touch onto editorial photography.

While leaving the original photographic faces in a nostalgic, desaturated black and white, she envelops the subjects in an intricate, continuous-flow doodle. Her visual vocabulary thrives on dense organic textures, fish-scale patterns, green and pink botanical leaves, and bright hearts. Using a masterly palette of fluorescent tones, deep fuchsias, acid greens, and shimmering gold highlights, Lucy ArTe creates a striking contrast that reinterprets iconic gazes.
